72 year-old kills armed neighbour in act of ‘self defence’

A 72-YEAR-OLD man from Tombo village in Matobo has been arrested for allegedly killing his neighbour who had attacked him with a machete.
According to police, the incident in which Gibson Ndlovu allegedly killed Mncedisi Ndebele occurred at his homestead Last week Saturday at around 3AM.
“The deceased allegedly confronted the suspect armed with a machete, accusing him of encroaching into his yard before striking the accused on the left hand with the machete,” read a police statement on X.
A scuffle ensued and Ndlovu managed to overpower and disarm Ndebele before striking him indiscriminately all over the body with the weapon.
Ndlovu is reported to have then dumped Ndebele’s body on a rockery within his yard.
“The body was conveyed to United Bulawayo Hospitals for a post-mortem,” read the statement.
