The Government will continue to address the country’s skills gap through training and empowerment initiatives aimed at enhancing national development and productivity, President Mnangagwa has said.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony at the Joint Command and Staff course (38) at the Zimbabwe Staff College in Harare where 74 officers graduated today, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe will continue to provide the requisite skills and knowledge that foster development, security and peace across the region.

“This event, among other milestones, bears testimony to the achievement of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces as one of our country’s strategic institutions,” he said.
“As Government, we continue to address manpower and the skills gap through the requisite education, training and capacity management.
“This has ensured that the Zimbabwe Defence Forces remain a source of inspiration within the broader local and regional security and ecosystem.
“The Zimbabwe Defence Forces is fostering enhancement in the region and the sub-region through the evolving enrolment of students drawn from various regions of Africa.”
Students were drawn from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the Zimbabwe Defence Forces and the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services.

They were also drawn from African countries such as Nigeria, Botswana, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia, among others.
The graduates were urged to ensure that the lessons learnt at the Zimbabwe Staff College are passed on to their respective countries.

President Mnangagwa said the graduates should exhibit critical thinking, adaptation and innovation in the areas they will serve.
The graduation was attended by Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, senior ZDF officials and Chinese military training officers.
