The 7th SADC Industrialisation Week held before the SADC Heads of State Summit in August was a game changer in the country’s pursuit of attracting increased investments, Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) chief executive officer Mr Tafadzwa Chinamo has said.
The investment agency published its third quarter performance report this week. Mr Chinamo acknowledges in the report that the industrialisation week had set the tone for increased collaboration between SADC member states.
This, he said, will see more investments being made in the country.
“One of the stand-out events during the quarter was the inaugural SADC Investment Forum hosted alongside the 7th SADC Industrialisation Week by the agency,” he said.
“The event brought together esteemed speakers from around the globe to discuss regional industrial development, emphasising the importance of promoting regional value chains in priority sectors across Southern Africa.
“The exchange of ideas and strategies during the forum laid a strong foundation for future collaboration and investments that will undoubtedly drive our economies forward.”
