THE Zimunya-Marange Community Share Ownership Trust has released $80 000 towards the construction of a community hall at Zimunya township.

Ward 32 councillor Mr Herbert Gonyora confirmed the development in an interview on Monday.

“The community hall will provide people with a platform to start income- generating projects,” he said. “It will also provide vendors with a facility to trade their wares.”

Mr Gonyora encouraged women and youths to make use of the hall to empower themselves instead of waiting for assistance from Government and well-wishers.

The hall will benefit 36 wards in Mutare Rural District.

“This initiative will not benefit Zimunya community alone, but is extended to the other 36 wards under Mutare Rural District Council as they have already received the same amount of $80 000 from Marange community trust,” he said.
