ON Friday 15 November, kids from Borrowdale Brooke Academy bunked all their school lessons and had a fun day in the sun at Highlands Swimming Pool! The day started off with the juniors swimming their way across the width of the “big pool”. Thereafter, they went into the kiddies’ pool where they were “splishing” and splashing having the time of their lives.
Then it was time for the seniors to compete.
The most outstanding swimmer was Rutendo Henny, who swam every stroke very well and beat all the other girls and boys! I tell you, this girl is a Kirsty Coventry in the making.
The teachers then took to the pool and also competed and after that, the group executive chairman Mr Henny was thrown into the pool by the senior students leaving the kids roaring with laughter.
The day ended with some music and refreshments while the kids danced and showed their moves.
