That pretty much sums up Zimpapers’ Masterclass High Tea — an event that brought together women from diverse backgrounds to discuss pertinent feminine issues.
Themed “I am My Sister’s Keeper”, the colourful event was held on March 24 at Zimparks Gardens, Harare.
Among the guests were Zimpapers board member Mrs Rejoice Nharaunda, NMB marketing manager Ms Lindiwe Thebethebe, NetOne marketing and PR executive Dr Eldrette Shereni, SafAids executive director Mrs Loice Chingadu, Seedco PR and corporate affairs manager Ms Marjorie Mutemererwa and her Zimpapers counterpart Ms Beatrice Tonhodzayi.
Topics covered included financial management, leadership, health and wellness, law and media.
Ms Tonhodzayi encouraged female journalists to lead in writing positively about women.
She said, “Let’s build a new narrative and support each other; let’s write positive stories. Women outside the media fraternity must make sure that they have good relations with members of the media so that they are catapulted to higher levels.”
Zimpapers corporate events manager Miss Jackie Kathemba explained: “There is an impression that women cannot put their egos aside and work together, but that should not be the case. Events like these prove that women can do greater things if they put up a united front.”
