July 2005 – On how the fixture list seems to favour Arsenal. Mourinho: ‘Some clubs are treated as devils, some are treated as angels. I don’t think we are so ugly that we should be seen as the devil and I don’t think Arsene Wenger and David Dein are so beautiful that they should be viewed as angels.’

August 2005 – On Chelsea’s apparent lack of flair
Wenger: ‘We live in a world where we have only winners and losers, but once a sport encourages teams who refuse to take the initiative, the sport is in danger.’

October 2005 -On Wenger’s complaints on Chelsea’s spending
Mourinho: ‘He is one of these people who is a voyeur. He likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea.’
November 2005 – Wenger hits back

Wenger: ‘I find it out of order, disconnected with reality and disrespectful. When you give success to stupid people, it makes them more stupid sometimes and not more intelligent.’
November 2005 – Mourinho responds

Mourinho: ‘We have a file of quotes from Mr Wenger about Chelsea in the last 12 months – it is not a file of five pages. It is a file of 120 pages.’
February 2007 – Ahead of the League Cup Final

Wenger: ‘If you compare every manager and give each one the same amount and say: ‘You have that for five years.’ After five years you see who has done the most.’

April 2008 – An out of work Jose on the attack
Mourinho: ‘The English like statistics a lot. Do they know that Arsene Wenger has only 50 per cent of wins in the English league?’
November 2010 – on Arsenal’s trophy drought

Mourinho: ‘Maybe Wenger should explain to Arsenal fans how he cannot win a single little trophy since 2005.’
November 2010 – after Real Madrid appear to get players sent off deliberately

Wenger: ‘There should be sanctions. It gives a bad image of our game. Think ‘never do that again’ because it looks, frankly, horrible.’
February 2014 – Specialist in failure

Mourinho brands Wenger a ‘specialist in failure’ in response to comments from the Frenchman about the Premier League title race.
October 2014 – Wenger shoves Mourinho

Wenger and Mourinho are involved in a furious touchline bust-up during Chelsea’s 2-0 win. The Frenchman later apologises.
August 2015 – Wenger snubs handshake

After finally defeating Mourinho 1-0 in the Community Shield, Wenger avoids shaking hands with the Portuguese twice after the Wembley clash. – Dailymail
