This month’s national clean-up campaign in Shamva attracted a huge crowd as residents spruced up the town in preparation for President Mnangagwa’s thank-you rally. The rally which was slated for tomorrow has since been postponed to a later date.
However preparations for the Thank-you rally are still ongoing with several stakeholders making concerted efforts to clean the town.

The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) has trained 100 litter monitors.
Recycling champions who received certificates from the First Lady last year are part of the litter monitors.

Working together with the Ministry of Roads and Infrastructural Development, EMA is ensuring that all road servitude leading into the province are clear and maintained.

EMA education and publicist officer Mr Maxwell Mupotsa said, “When the new date for the Thank-you rally is set, we will be ready. We are happy with the response from the residents , who turned up in their numbers to take part in preparations for the President” s thank you rally.

People came in their numbers for this month’s clean-up programme. This is commendable. ”

“The key message remains zero tolerance to litter.
