A life of faith, blessing

“AND now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.” — Galatians 3:29

This declaration of our spiritual heritage assures us that Abraham’s blessings are ours to claim.

The story of Abraham, recorded in Genesis, sets the stage for understanding God’s covenant promises.

In Genesis, God promises Abraham three pivotal blessings:

A blessing to others — All nations would be blessed through him (Genesis 12:2).

Countless descendants — As numerous as the stars (Genesis 15:5).

Land — A specific territory for him and his descendants (Genesis 15:18-21).

Fast-forward to Galatians 3:29, where Paul writes: “And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.”

This verse bridges the Old Testament promises to our New Testament reality.

As believers in Christ, we become true children of Abraham through faith.

We inherit Abraham’s faith and obedience: trusting God despite uncertainty and following God’s call, even when there are challenges.

You are a seed of Abraham. You are blessed. Abraham’s blessings are yours in Christ Jesus. Everything you do succeeds. Whatever you do in the name of Jesus Christ is blessed and succeeds.

In Christ, you have come to the place of commanded blessings. Let this be your mindset and confession.

Ephesians 1:3 says: “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.”
