Big boost for women’s economic power

The Presidential Empowerment Fund is a landmark initiative aimed at empowering women across the country.
This fund is part of President Mnangagwa’s broader vision to drive economic development and support women empowerment programmes.

The initiative also recognise women as the backbone of the nation’s progress and seeks to equip them with the tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy.
The empowerment fund will also focus on skills development and provide financial support for women-led led projects in the manufacturing, mining, agriculture and tourism sectors.
Farming, mining made easy

President Mnangagwa will officially hand over farming and mining equipment to the Zanu PF Women’s League.
The equipment comprises:
20 500 hoes
3 800picks,
800 plough
50 ridgers,
500 cultivators
200 scotch carts,
400 wheelbarrows
1 000 harrows,
2 500 shavels
500 spades.
The President will also hand over 10 vehicles and a 10 000-capacity incubator.
VPs Chiwenga, Mohadi arrive for launch

Vice Presidents Dr Constatino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi have arrived at the Harare International Conference Centre for the launch.
Other delegates who are also here include Cabinet Ministers and Zanu PF top officials.

Official proceedings begin

As President Mnangagwa entered the venue for the launch of the Women’s League Presidential Empowerment Fund, he was greeted with an enthusiastic reception from the crowd.
The air was filled with excitement as attendees erupted into wild cheers, celebrating their leader’s commitment to women’s empowerment and national progress.

The atmosphere is electric, with supporters waving banners and chanting slogans that emphasise the importance of women’s roles in driving economic growth.

Their cheers reflect not only the anticipation for the initiative but also a deep appreciation for the Government’s recognition of women’s contributions as vital to the nation’s development.

Harare chair thanks President
Harare Provincial Chair for the Women’s League, Cde Barbara Mwale has taken to the podium.
She began by welcoming all delegates in attendance.
“We welcome you all to Harare Province, we are very happy to be hosting this gathering,” she said.
Cde Mwale commended President Mnangagwa for ensuring that women’s empowerment projects are rolled out countrywide.
“We thank President Mnangagwa for spearheading various women’s empowerment projects,” she said.
President Mnangagwa is a listening leader: Dr Tungwarara

Advisor to the President, Dr Paul Tungwarara, is now on stage to give his remarks.
Dr Tungwarara described women as a gift that will nurture generations to come.
“Empowerment should benefit and unite party structures. Our mandate is to ensure that we hand over empowerment projects to the people under the mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.”
He praised President Mnangagwa for being a listening leader who is committed to empowering everyone, including women.
‘This fund will open doors of opportunities for countless women across the country’

Harare Provincial Minister, Senator Charles Tawengwa commended President Mnangagwa for ensuring the establishment of the women’s fund.
He said the fund will make women active players in the country’s economic development.
“We witness yet another birth of a transformative initiative, an instrument that will open doors of opportunities for countless women across the country,” said Minister Tawengwa.
“Each initiative strengthens our foundation and empowers women to play pivotal roles in society,” he said.
Minister Tawengwa thanked President Mnangagwa for his unwavering commitment to Zanu PF and the people of Zimbabwe.
Women’s League is up to the task: Cde Chinomona

Women’s League Secretary, Cde Mabel Chinomona said the Women’s League is up to the task in driving the national agenda of becoming an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
“As the Women’s League,
“If the woman of the house is lazy, the whole house will be in disarray; but if she is active, the house will be well kempt. As the Zanu PF Women’s League, we are active. We assure the President that everything is in order,” said Cde Chinomona.

She commended President Mnangagwa for uplifting women.
“At every turn, you have put women at the centre of national development.

“You have never forgotten us as women, you always think about us, so we will not let you down,” said the Women’s League boss.
Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri lauds women for their hard work

Zanu PF Chairman, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, has taken to the podium.
She began her remarks by lauding the Zanu PF First Secretary for working tirelessly.
“We thank President Mnangagwa because you arrived back in the country just yesterday but today you are here with us,” said Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri.
She went on to commend Cde Chinomona for leading the Women’s League so well.
Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri said it is encouraging to note that women continue to play their part in national development.
“Hondo yakapera asi vari kuramba vachiiita defend the revolution. Vakabata kuti nyika inovakwa nevene vayo,” she said.
Women’s League should serve with humility, listen with empathy and act fairly: VP Chiwenga

Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga has taken to the podium to introduce the President.
In his brief remarks, the VP and Zanu PF Second Secretary said the Second Republic is committed to women’s empowerment.
“You (the Women’s League) are expected to be the backbone of our party Zanu PF.
“The Women’s League should be exemplary leaders and champions who continue to inspire and mentor the next generation,” he said.
VP Chiwenga said the launch of the women’s fund is a clarion call to deepen unity in the ruling party and beyond.
“You should serve with humility, listen with empathy and act fairly.
“Embrace resilience and prioritise service,” said the Vice President.
He went on to invite President Mnangagwa to deliver his keynote address.
President launches US$3 million women empowerment fund

President Mnangagwa has launched the US$3 million Women’s League Empowerment Fund, with each province getting US$300 000.
The President described the Women’s League as Zanu PF’s backbone, and went on to implore the wing to remain committed to the founding values and principles of the ruling party.
“Please continue to guarantee us that our party remains in power. Let us continue to build the Zimbabwe that we all want,” said President Mnangagwa.
“This fund is more than just capital; it is about transforming women into economic powerhouses.”
He said the launch of the empowerment fund is a clarion call to deepen unity and safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
“I am confident that you will uphold financial discipline and transparency in your projects. As a people, we are masters of our own destiny. We can only defeat poverty when we work together, from Zambezi to Limpopo,” he said.

VP Mohadi commends upliftment of women

In giving the vote of thanks, Vice President Cde Kembo Mohadi said President Mnangagwa has demonstrated his commitment to uplifting the lives of women across the country.
“The President has elevated this occasion to a national statement of intent,” he said.
VP Mohadi commended the leadership of the Women’s League for hosting a successful launch.
“The results are clear for all of us to see,” said the Vice President.
He implored beneficiaries to put to good use the implements that have been provided to them.
