Back to school fever grips Bulawayo

It was a busy day on Monday morning at various pick-up points in Bulawayo, with school boarders leaving for various educational institutions on the outskirts of the city, in Matabeleland South and Matabeleland North provinces.

Schools open for the Third Term on Tuesday.

Chronicle conducted a snap survey at the City Hall parking lot and observed hundreds of schoolchildren boarding buses to their respective destinations.

Parents were making last-minute stationery and grocery purchases to ensure their children had everything they needed for the final three months of the 2025 academic year.

Mrs Thubelihle Moyo said she did not buy school uniforms for her daughter, who is in Form Three at a boarding school in Matabeleland North Province.

“My daughter’s school uniforms are still in a good condition and the only things that I had to buy were groceries and stationery such as books and pens. I wish her all the best in her final examinations for the year and I made sure that she has everything she needs so that she is not distracted,” said Mrs Moyo.

This is a developing story…
