A Night of Wonder with Blessing Shumba

ZIMBABWE’s gospel music kingpin, Blessing Shumba, had a remarkable performance at New Revelations Ministry’s all-night Night of Wonder prayer at Magamba Hall in Warren Park, Harare last week.
Shumba performed for three hours before the church leader, Prophet Miracle Paul, embarked on healing and deliverance sessions.
The Holy Psalms front man performed several songs from his four albums; namely “Ishe Wazvose”, “NdiMwari”, “Shongwe” and “NdiJesu”, which he released in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2015 respectively.
“When I received a phone call from the New Revelation Ministry’s spokesperson inviting me to perform at the Night of Wonders my response was instant because where God’s word is preached I am always available to assist,” said Shumba after his performance.
“As a pastor, the word of God and my performance work hand-in-hand.
”This was my first time performing at the church and I am glad to be here because I love performing in the house of God more compared to family shows.”
Along his wife, Shumba performed with six of band members.
“Ishe Wazvose”, “NdiMwari”, “Shongwe”, “NdiJesu”, “Ndiye Mambo”, “Kutenda”, “Chimwe Nechimwe”, “Nyaradzai Vanhu” and “Ndive Chipikirwa” are some of the songs he performed from 9pm to midnight.
Prior to his performance, former manager of Mabasa eVatumwa, Justice Mbengo — who is now fronts a new group called Vana vaMwari — performed for close to an hour.
Vana vaMwari, which is made of six members, performed Apostolic songs such as “Ngatimutende”, “Maunza Jesu” and “Jehovha Wedenga”, among others.
Unlike other Apostolic songs that are normally performed acapella, the group used a live band, a variation well-recieved by congregants.
The band also performed songs from their recently launched album “Ndigere Munyasha”: “Kudzai Vabereki”, “Jesu Makanaka”, “Vanoporeswa” and “Amen! Amen!”
After the performances, Prophet Paul had 45 minutes of preaching and ministering.
The man of God concluded the Night of Wonders with a four-hour healing and deliverance session with people receiving prophecies while demons manifested.
