AAG board members resign

Their spokesperson, Mr Davison Gomo, said Mr Chiyangwa’s principles were not in line with what they expected as board members. Insiders said the decision was triggered by Mr Chiyangwa’s recent decision to appoint Ms Henrietta Rushwaya as the group’s vice president (international empo-werment and corporate affairs) and Ms Jennifer Mhlanga as VP for gender empowerment. They said Ms Rushwaya was never an AAG member while Ms Mhlanga was a renowned businesswoman who had held several posts in the organisation and should have got the post given to the former.
Mr Gomo said, “We have collectively and unanimously decided to formally announce the resignation of all the executive board members from the group. With effect from tonight we are inviting the founding council to appoint a new executive to replace us.”
Mr Gomo said empowerment was not about an organisation being owned by one person and they expected Mr Chiyangwa to approach the National Executive Committee before making such decisions.
The executive board consisted of Mr Supa Mandiwanzira, Mr Sam Ncube, Mr Temba Mliswa, Advocate Farai Mutamangira and Mr Tafadzwa Musarara among others.
