Africa Albida Tourism (AAT) continued with its dominance in the hospitality industry with the 26th award for Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and 10th for Lokuthula Lodges.
The 2024 Association of Zimbabwe Travel Agents (AZTA) Awards were held recently at the Beach House Restaurant in Harare under the theme “Country and Western”.
The group’s flagship property, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge was named Best Resort Hotel in Zimbabwe for the 26th consecutive year while Lokuthula Lodges, also in Victoria Falls, received the Best Self-Catering Facility award for the 10th year.
AAT’s sales executive Ms Wendy Bourne also received an individual award for the Most Outstanding Voluntary Service to Travel Agents for the 12th year, in recognition of her sterling contribution to the industry.
The latest achievements by the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge come at a time when the iconic property prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in December.
AAT director Mr Ross Kennedy said the group had once again demonstrated its leadership in Zimbabwe’s hospitality industry.

He said the awards are a reflection of the group’s dedication to providing exceptional service and unforgettable experiences to guests.
“Winning this award for 26 years in a row is an extraordinary achievement and it is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our team and their passion for delivering a world-class experience to every guest,” said Mr Kennedy.
“As we approach Victoria Falls Safari Lodge’s 30th anniversary, this recognition reinforces our commitment to maintaining the high standards that our guests have come to expect while continuing to innovate.”
Mr Kennedy said they are incredibly proud of Lokuthula Lodges after it was named the Best Self-Catering Facility for the 10th year running.
“This award reflects our focus on providing diverse and flexible accommodation options that cater to families and independent travellers.
“The property offers a unique and memorable experience and we are honoured to be recognised for our efforts,” he said.
AAT managing director Mr Nigel Frost said the awards are a reflection of the future.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the AZTA members and the travel trade in Zimbabwe for their continued loyalty and support.
“Your partnership has been invaluable to our success,” he said.
“We would also like to congratulate Wendy Bourne on her well-deserved individual award for Most Outstanding Voluntary Service, in recognition of her dedication and tireless contribution to the industry over the years.”
Mr Frost said their developments in the pipeline will further enhance the guest experience and build on the legacy of Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and other properties.
“These upcoming projects will not only improve our facilities but also align with our ongoing commitment to offer world-class hospitality,” he said.
Over the years, AAT has become synonymous with exceptional service, breathtaking views and a commitment to sustainable tourism through its various properties.
The group operates a portfolio of world-renowned properties in Victoria Falls and these are Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls Safari Club, Victoria Falls Safari Suites, Lokuthula Lodges, The Boma — Dinner & Drum Show and the Victoria Falls Safari Spa.
At the previous AZTA awards, the group scooped five awards, cementing its position as a pacesetter.
Voted by the Zimbabwe travel sector, the awards celebrate excellence and recognise the outstanding efforts of companies and individuals in the tourism sector.
The Victoria Falls Safari Club was last year named Second Runner-Up in the Best Boutique Hotel category while Lokuthula Lodges came second in the Best Bed and Breakfast facility category.
These awards represent the remarkable achievements of AAT as a leader in the hospitality industry in Zimbabwe.
