AAZ launches Road Safety Audit training

AUTOMOBILE Association of Zimbabwe (AAZ) is today launching the Road Safety Audit training a development meant to improve road safety in the country.

Working in partnership with Road Safe Zimbabwe and FIA Foundation under the Safe and Sustainable Mobility Programme, AAZ is set to train about 20 young engineers from different local authorities five of them from Bulawayo.

The participants will get an opportunity to conduct a practical school site assessment where they will implement skills acquired in the training and recommend remedies to improve the safety of Road users in the in the chosen area.

The training will be done through the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP) Rating Essential Certification.

The iRAP Star Rating is a method for assessing road safety performance, with higher ratings indicating safer roads, and is used for strategic planning, investment prioritisation, and ensuring new designs are as safe as possible.
