Zimbabwean music producer and audio engineer Thulani “DJ Face” Nyashanu, also known as “2LANI”, has teamed up with award-winning Bulawayo producer Just Percy on a new worship single titled Mutsvene.
The song is all about praising God for the good things He always does to those who believe in Him.
It also represents a new creative direction for DJ Face as he combines his experience in music production and sound engineering with his interest in worship music.
The project also links his work in Zimbabwe with his current base in the United Kingdom, while giving Just Percy an opportunity to contribute to a cross-border production.
DJ Face said the collaboration was aimed at bringing a fresh creative approach to the song ahead of its release.
The producer, who has worked with Southern African artistes such as Big Zulu, Emtee, Vusi Nova and Madlela Dayona, recorded the initial version of the song under his imprint, Face The Muzik, before bringing Just Percy on board to complete the production.
“I really wanted this to be a true collaborative effort rather than doing everything on my own.
Bringing another pair of hands and fresh creative ears into the mix allows the sound to reach its full potential. I am excited that Just Percy arrived to the occasion and delivered exceptional work on this song,” said DJ Face.
Just Percy is expected to complete the final production this week, bringing the recording process to an end.
DJ Face said preparations for the song’s release were already underway in Zimbabwe and among audiences in the diaspora.
“The moment has finally arrived. We are launching an intensive promotional drive for this song because we want to push it to different markets. We’re building momentum on the ground right now so that when the music drops, it moves like wildfire,” said DJ Face.
The collaboration will also extend to the visual side, with DJ Face confirming that the official Mutsvene music video is scheduled to be shot next month.
