PROLIFIC videographer Tamuka “Naxo Films” Mapembure believes that promiscuity is the cause of many artists losing their way.
As a successful videographer with nine videos in the ZTV Top 50 Videos of The Year Awards, Naxo always advises celebrities to be responsible and avoid promiscuity.
He said that fame and ladies are good friends, but it doesn’t end well, and he always tries his best to whip celebrities in line.
Naxo believes that most artists become excited when they become famous and lose their way.
He is motivated by his background to keep going and specialises in musical videos, documentaries, and weddings, which have made his brand what it is today. The 37-year-old father of two said his background keeps him going.
“To imagine that I came from Mberengwa and I am making a difference as a videographer here in Harare inspires me a lot,” he said.
On his milestone after nine videos which he produced made it into the Top 50 Best Videos of the Year, he said:
“I always see the hand of the Lord and his favour in whatever I do. I will always thank the Lord for the love he is showing me every day.
“Of course, I have won an award in my life, but I believe the best award I have is the public’s endorsement.
“To be honest, I will not enter the awards because the people behind them have vendettas against big brains like us.”
Unlike most videographers who can do anything for money, Naxo says he would not want to be found filming filthy stuff.
He wants to be remembered as someone who made videos that changed people’s lives.
“When an artist who sings vulgar or dirty lyrics approaches me, I won’t tolerate that nonsense even if they give me a lot of money.
“I always take the advice of good people I have worked with like Alick Macheso and Australia-based Lee Bazuka who have taught me to be responsible if I want to leave a legacy,” he said.
