adminAddressing delegates at the colourful function, the president of ABUZ Mr Lucky Mlilo commended the members for staying and supporting the organisation even through difficult times.
“These members have been with this organisation since formation and through times of tribulation and joy.
“Today we are honouring them in the small way we could as a way of recognising and appreciating their loyalty and contribution over the years,” he said.
Mr Mlilo said their mission has always been to encourage, promote and protect the sustainable growth and development of business in Zimbabwe, and further enable free and fair practice of business by all.
“ABUZ has the mandate to look after the interests of those in businesses of all types in Zimbabwe,” he said.
Speaking at the same function, the Minister of State Enterprises and Parastatals Gorden Moyo, who was the guest speaker, applauded the businessmen for working so hard to support the growth of Bulawayo.
“Besides the relocation of some companies to Harare, you have managed to stay and contribute to the growth of this city which is quite commendable,” he said.
He encouraged them to keep seeing the potential that other people do not see in Bulawayo and promised to help in any way he can.
“My office has an open door policy, if you feel you want help in any way you can come and we talk the problems through so that we help each other to build a strong economy,” Minister Moyo said.
Some of the companies that received certificates include CPS Africa, Femina Garments, Zimplow, Directory Publishers, Archer Clothing, John Pocock, and Solomons Supermarkets.
