A suspected robber from Zengeza 2 who was also involved in the US$238 000 theft at a local company early this year has been arraigned before the courts.

Kelly Chinaka (29) appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Marehwanazvo Gofa charged with robbery.

She was remanded in custody to today so that her docket can be merged with that of her co-accomplices already on remand.

Prosecutor Mr Tendai Tapi alleged that Chinaka connived with Kennedy Mbundire, Owen Mutera, Tedious Desmond Munyaradzi Mhungira and three others, who are still at large to rob the complainant of his money.

They produced an unidentified pistol and held the guards on duty hostage to gain entry into the complainant’s company offices where they broke in and used a grinder to open the safes and stole cash amounting to US$238 000.

The accused persons shared the cash among themselves.

According to the State ,there is a confirmation of calls made between the accused person and her accomplices soon after the commission of the crime.

So far from the US$238 000 stolen, only US$6 500 was recovered.
