South Africa-based actor Trueman Chikukwa is making a breakthrough following the release of his project ‘‘Rudo Ndimambo.’’

The drama series features comedian like Baba Tencen of the Kuripwa kugara fame, model Zandile Ncube, Celani Sarai Rice among others.

Trueman says the project was produced by Jamukoko Media, a film production founded in 2021 by Zimbabwe film maker Simon Jamukoko.

“In 2022 we shot a successful drama called Mainini starring model Zandile Ncube, Celani Sarai Rice and many talented actors prompting the channel to grow. We gained more followers and we’re being recognised at home and abroad.

“In 2023 we shot another drama called Rudo ndimambo starring Baba Tencen, Hezel Ruvarashe Tizora. It’s our first drama since the year started and it’s appealing to a wider audience than other dramas, and it’s special thanks to Apostle Sean,” he said.

His producer Jamukoko said Rudo Ndimambo focuses on love issues.

Rudo Ndimambo focuses on a young lady who is a single mother with a daughter. She later meets a guy who she doesn’t tell that she has a child and the guy promises to love her with her daughter.

“The guy decided to introduce his girlfriend to his family, but the family doesn’t accept her because she has a child. They believe that a girl with a child in not proper for their son.

“The drama teaches and shows people that love is not about what you have or what happened in the past or whether you have a child or not.

“Love is about two people, not three.

“That’s why they said ‘ love is king ‘ which means no one can come between two lovebirds, as love conquers all.

“We don’t just do projects for entertainment, but for educational purposes, and we want our viewers to learn from the content we create.

“YouTube helps us so much because tange tisina proper channel to broadcast our production since we are in South Africa. But with YouTube, everyone can watch us on their phones, laptops or smart TVs.

“We are being recognised on the street, which means production dzikusvika kuvanhu and our dramas have subtitles, wo anyone who can read English can enjoy our content,” he said.
