ACTOR Mduduzi Mnguni is a force to be reckoned with in the film industry.
Mduduzi, who hails from Umlazi, Durban, is known for his roles in shows such as Uzalo, Generations, Isibaya, Imbewu and Umkhokha: The Curse to name a few.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Mduduzi said he thinks it’s always easy when an actor understands their mandate.
“We are all equal. We need each other — from the driver, crew, cast, supporting actors and extras. Respect comes first, it’s very important, and listening so you give exactly what your director wants from you after reading your script. I always have a good relationship with everyone I work with, not just the cast,” he said.
Mduduzi is a former bodyguard. He recently landed a role in SABC1’s new telenovela Amalanga Awafani.
He’ll be starring as Bab uKhoza, “The character is a construction man who is passionate about his job and always wants to make his clients happy by building their dream houses or buildings,” he said.
“For me there were no challenges in moulding into the role, Because as an actor I believe you need to be versatile and be able to portray any character that is given to you, whether it’s a sangoma (traditional healer) or pastor. You need to take that character and wear it and go push that image. You must always wear the character you are given.” — Times.
