AfrAsia wins prestigious award

AFRASIA Bank Limited has won the Best Private Bank in Mauritius award at the Global Private Banking Awards recently held in Geneva.
The awards were presented by Professional Wealth Management and The Banker magazines both from the world’s leading business news and information organisation the Financial Times Group.

ABL chief executive officer Mr James Benoit received the award on behalf of the bank.

AfrAsia Kingdom Zimbabwe Limited (AKZL) chief executive officer Mrs Lynn Mukonoweshuro said the bank was excited about the award.

“This is indeed very encouraging especially considering that this year alone the bank was also acknowledged as the ‘Best Bank in Southern Africa 2013’ at the African Banker Awards and the ‘Best Local Private Bank 2013’ for the third consecutive year by Euromoney. We are very excited about these developments.”

She expressed confidence that the AfrAsia brand would soon come to represent an innovative and highly professional financial services franchise in Zimbabwe.

“This award is in recognition of AfrAsia Bank Limited continued excellence in wealth management and their global capabilities to provide unparalleled financial solutions to customers. This is a fourth award won by ABL this year,” said Mrs Mukonoweshuro.

AKZL deputy CEO Mr Vinod Dhondee said winning such an award showed the bank’s commitment to creating value for customers.

“Winning this award on a global stage serves as recognition of AfrAsia Bank’s ongoing commitment to creating value for customers and differentiating the bank and its unique product offering,” he said.

The Banker Global Private Banking Awards recognise and reward excellence in wealth management among banks from the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, based on rigorous qualitative and quantitative criteria. These include progress against business model and growth strategies, client service, staff retention, as well as measures taken to build a client-centered culture.
