THE Africa Trade and Distribution Company Limited (ATDC), a subsidiary of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), launched its operations in Harare this morning.

ATDC Zimbabwe, implemented in partnership with CBZ Holdings, is designed to dismantle trade barriers, expand commercial networks and integrate Zimbabwean businesses into value chains across the continent.

The company started preliminary operations three months ago and serves as an operational catalyst for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

By bridging logistics gaps and streamlining cross-border distribution, National ATDC Zimbabwe aims to optimise market access for local industries, drive value addition, and accelerate intra-African trade.

Representing the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mangaliso Ndlovu, a director in the ministry, Ms Netsai Magade said the ATDC platform would “provide commercial partnerships our products so much require.”

She noted, “Our domestic market is small,” and the platform provides pathways for tapping into external markets.”

Formed in September 2025 by Afreximbank, ATDC was established with a seed capital of $1 billion to drive continent-wide trade infrastructure and commercial integration.
