African Economic Conference slated for November

STAKEHOLDERS are currently preparing for the ninth edition of the Annual Economic Conference (AEC) that is slated for November 17 to November 19 this year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Conference, which is organised jointly by the African Development Bank, the Economic Commission for Africa and the United Nations Development Programme, will be running under the theme “Skills, Technology and Innovation for Economic Transformation”.

Through the AEC platform, researchers, policymakers and development practitioners will focus on how soft infrastructure can be used as leverage to spur economic transformation and inclusive growth.

The African Economic Conference series is meant to promote knowledge management as an important driver of policy dialogue, good policy planning and implementation.

It is also oriented to promote the exchange of ideas and innovative thinking among researchers, development practitioners and African policymakers.

Efforts are currently being made to encourage and enhance research on economic and policy issues related to the development of African economies.
