REVERED gospel diva, Agatha Murudzwa, who sunk into oblivion after releasing chart-buster album, No Pain No Gain, two years ago is back with a new project, Grace Period. The eight-track album which hit the streets last weekend is a summation and blend of day-to-day hurdles, ups and downs of Agatha’s personal life as well as Christians. It was produced by Moses Gavaza and recorded at Diamond Studios. Tracks on the album are Ndivanani avo, Tiri munyasha, Hold on, Anesu Mwari, Amai, Ndakakotswa, Hossana and Baba vedu.
In an interview, Murudzwa who relocated to Harare after she got married to Methodist Revival Church pastor, Gwinyai Ndembera, said the album had peculiar beats as well as a diverse tempo that caters for all age groups.
She will officially launch the project on September 19 in Rusape.
“I think this is my best album ever in terms of instrument arrangement and lyrical content. I believe I rediscovered the art of gospel music. My fans will definitely love the inspiring messages on the tracks. I had all age groups in mind when I composed each song on this album,” said Murudzwa.
She added: “The album title was derived from the amazing grace God has been offering us in 2015. We must always cherish his love and worship him in season and out of season.”
Renowned session musicians played instruments and provided vocals on all songs on the album.
The musician has more than six albums to date which include Fambai neni, Ngatitye Mwari, Mwari anotiona, Kupenyu Mwari and Press On.
