Earlier this month, Megafest Holdings hosted its Megafest Southern Region Business Awards at a hotel in Bulawayo celebrating success, innovation, and business ethics across various industries in Zimbabwe. Among the distinguished winners was Sipho Mazibuko, a modelling and event planning expert.

She received the prestigious “Female Executive of the Year” award in recognition of her outstanding work with Lavinia Gardens. Notably, her impeccable makeup at the event showcased a timeless elegance, defying her almost golden jubilee age.

Expressing her joy, Mazibuko acknowledged the significant role played by her makeup artist (MUA), Natasha Heriet Sipindiye, the creative mind behind Silk Harriette Beauty. She praised Sipindiye’s talent and was delighted to have chosen her for such a momentous occasion.

“Winning the award filled me with mixed feelings. I was emotional and overly impressed with my makeup artist, Natasha, who I’m glad to have given a chance at the grandest stage of them all. It was a defining moment indeed,” Mazibuko said. Sipindiye, aspiring to be more than just another MUA, shared her artistic inspiration, expressing a desire to work with both women and male models. Her goal extends to becoming a television MUA, seeking a comprehensive approach to makeup artistry.

Reflecting on her experience with Mazibuko, Sipindiye said, “It feels good to have been the one who did Mazibuko’s makeup for the awards. I was very scared of her before we met, but her motherly love and friendly approach to things made it all easy and worthwhile.”

Despite establishing her beauty brand, Silk Harriette Beauty, only this year, the 22-year-old MUA is already gaining traction and collaborating with influential figures. Sipindiye, a former Sunday News intern has worked with Bulawayo influencer and commercial model Taffy Lynn and is poised to collaborate with high-profile personalities such as Sandra Ndebele-Sibindi.
