adminHIP hop star AKA has finally fixed things with DJ Zinhle’s family. The artiste took some time off his busy schedule and subjected himself to the Jiyane family’s Zulu customs. Sunday Sun previously reported that Zinhle’s family was angered by AKA, who had not paid damages for impregnating the DJ. The two have a one-month old baby girl.
But all of that is now water under the bridge! On Sunday he was accompanied by his family to pay damages at the Jiyane home in Dannhauser near Newcastle, KZN Midlands.
Zinhle’s uncle, Mbongeni Jiyane, confirmed this to the People’s paper. AKA had to pay two cows and a goat. He paid cash for the second cow. The first cow and the goat were live. “We’d a great day when the father of my grandchild came with his family to pay damages. He paid one cow, one goat and cash for the second cow. I’m happy that he respected our tradition,” said Mbongeni.
He said he met AKA for the very first time and was impressed.
“We became one family. It was like we’d known each other a long time. As for ilobolo?.?.?. maybe one day he’ll consider that but at the moment, we’re happy that he paid damages.” — DailySun.
