ALBUN Sports Academy got a major boost when they received 80 soccer balls from the Ngorima family and friends in memory of the late Cliff yesterday.The academy, which is run by former CAPS United star Alois Bunjira, is based in Chitungwiza and has several young promising players.
Nicky Mabhena, a spokesperson of the Ngorima family and friends, said the donation was in honour of Cliff who loved football.
“We are donating 80 balls for the boys enrolled in the Albun Soccer Academy and we would like each child to have a personal ball so that they can fulfil their dreams of being professional soccer players,” Mabhena said.
“My brother Cliff loved soccer and was a staunch supporter of Man Utd and locally he supported CAPS United. He was also a fan of Alois Bunjira and Stewart Murisa calling them Alo and Stewie as if they were his friends.
“Alois Bunjira founded the Albun Soccer Academy in 2010 with the aim of assisting talented children achieve their dreams.
“We think that the academy is the perfect organisation for us to donate a small gift so as to remember Cliff and assist the boys fulfil their dreams.
“We are doing this in memory of our brother who died on 13 May 2004.” Bunjira said he was grateful for the support. I am very delighted with this kind gesture and it is my hope that the donation will go a long way in helping the academy,” said Bunjira.
