THE late former Bulawayo Deputy Mayor and outspoken politician Alderman Charles Mpofu was yesterday buried in his rural home in Matopo’s Ntunjambila area. His brother and family spokesperson Patrick Zharare said the burial went as planned and expressed gratitude to the Bulawayo community for standing with them during the death and burial of Ald Mpofu.

“The attendance was overwhelming; almost the whole of Bulawayo was there. I thank those who travelled with us and even those who were there in spirit.”

Ald Mpofu died on Sunday night at the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) aged 55, from injuries he sustained after he was knocked down by an unlicensed truck driver on Saturday morning in Emganwini.
