Afro Jazz musician Alexio Kawara, who has embarked on joint shows with fellow artistes from different genres, will today share the stage with rising star Gary Tight at the Zimbabwe Germany Society.

Last week he shared the stage with urban grooves musician Ex-Q and the show was a huge success.

Speaking through his manager Farirai Chavura, Alexio said he has decided to engage young talent so as to support and give them exposure.

“We just felt that there is a need to bring different artistes for our shows at the Zimbabwe Germany Society. We want people to have a different feel of music and also appreciate other musicians and genres,” he said.

“We will not be engaging big guys in the music industry but young talent like Gary Tight. Our aim being to promote these young guys and people should look forward to a number of surprises in the following weeks,” he said.

The “Shaina” hitmaker said he enjoyed last week’s show with Ex-Q.

“Last week we had a wonderful show with Ex-Q, people turned up in huge numbers.

“He put up a sterling performance and people really enjoyed it, so tomorrow (today) we will be sharing stage with a young talented vocalist and guitarist and we are looking forward to a great show,” he said.

On the other hand Gary Tight said he feels greatly honoured to be sharing the stage with one of the people who inspired and moulded him to become the musician he is today.

“It is an honour to share the stage with Mukoma Lex as he is someone I look up to and who has always inspired me musically, he is someone with music at heart,

“Thursday will be a great show for me and my band as I will be sharing the stage with one of my favourite musicians, I am looking forward to great show” he said.
