DYNAMOS coach Herbert “Jompano” Maruwa knows he will be under the spotlight when his misfiring side host unpredictable Bulawayo Chiefs in a Castle Lager Premiership match on Sunday.
The misfiring Glamour Boys have failed to score in their last three matches, including a defeat in the Independence Cup, to Highlanders on Tuesday.
Interestingly, Dynamos are still to concede a goal this season.
Captain Frank Makarati and Denver Mukamba are expected to be back in the fold after being on the sidelines due to injuries.
Maruwa believes his team is on the right path.
“It has been a hectic week and now we focus on our game against Bulawayo Chiefs,” he told the media.
“We need to get a positive result for us to maintain our position on the log.
“We played some guys against Highlanders, who have not been playing, but they did well and it creates a good pool for selection.
“Defensively, the team is doing well, we are yet to consider a goal up to now.
“So, it’s a plus for the team and now we need to make sure we work on the second and third lines of our team.
“Goals will come, it’s a phase, what we need to do is keep on working hard.”
Makarati pleaded with the fans to come in their numbers to rally behind the team.
“We just want our supporters to come and rally behind us, we work as a team and defensively we are good.
“We need to adjust as a team and make sure the goals come.
“We are expecting to score more goals on Sunday.” Forward Emmanuel Paga received criticism from fans after he failed to convert his penalty in the Uhuru Cup final.
However, assistant coach, Genesis Mangombe, feels there are lessons to be picked.
“It was his first time doing something like that,” he said.
“So, he needs to go back to the basics and prove to the technical and Dynamos fans, that he is really sorry for this attitude.
“However, Dynamos supporters have to accept him as their player as mistakes do happen.”
