SCOTT Vincent is tipped as one of the favourites to clinch the inaugural Jakarta International Championship in the Asian Tour which tees off today at the Damar Indah Golf Course in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Scott will be joined by his young brother Kieran for an exciting new event that will add drama and excitement to the Asian Tour and The International Series, as their season draw to a thrilling conclusion.
The tournament is Indonesia’s most lucrative golf tournament with a purse value of US$2 million and will enhance the nation’s reputation for being a strong supporter of professional golf in the Asian region.
It will be Scott who has been under the spotlight in several Asian media outlets after his decent outings in the previous tournaments.
Jakarta International Championship will mark the Asian Tour’s second visit of the season to Indonesia who have been a regular stop on the tour for decades.
Scott is having rave reviews as he is second on both the Asian Tour, Order of Merit and The International Series Rankings.
The Zimbabwean professional golfer got most of his points after his win at the International Series Morocco in July and a tie for a second place at the Shinhan Donghae Open three weeks ago.
He has also posted other strong finishes such as a tie for fourth place in the Kolon Korea Open, a tie for eighth at the Smart Infinity Philippine Open and a position ten finish at the International Series India presented by DLF this season.
In addition to his good results on the Asian Tour this season he has also posted three top-five finishes on the Japan Tour, the most recent at the Sansan KBC Augusta Golf Tournament in late August
