Local arts practitioners, creatives and stakeholders will today converge at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC) Hall 2 for the Creative Economy Conference, being held as part of the KUZANA SCEEZ exhibition.
The conference is expected to be attended by Vice-President of Zimbabwe, Honourable Col (Rtd) Dr Kembo D.C. Mohadi, who will be the guest of honour.
The gathering will bring together leading voices from Zimbabwe’s creative ecosystem to examine the growing role of the creative industries in national development.
Discussions will cover a broad range of sectors, including music, film and television, fashion, publishing, visual and performing arts, digital content, intellectual property, cultural heritage, investment and the commercialisation of creative talent.
The conference is expected to provide a platform for meaningful dialogue, facilitate partnerships and generate practical interventions aimed at strengthening Zimbabwe’s creative industries.
KUZANA SCEEZ is hosted by the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture under the theme: “KUZANA: Towards Vision 2030 through Sport and Creative Industries.”
The expo represents a significant milestone in Government’s efforts to position sport and the creative industries as strategic contributors to economic development, employment creation, innovation, investment and the empowerment of young Zimbabweans.
KUZANA SCEEZ is conceived as a national platform bringing together Government, the private sector, sporting organisations, creative practitioners, investors, development partners, academia, innovators and the international community to explore opportunities for growing and commercialising Zimbabwe’s sporting and creative potential.
As the creative economy continues to expand, the conference is expected to place renewed focus on turning Zimbabwe’s considerable creative talent into sustainable livelihoods, businesses and investment opportunities.
