THE concept of sport tourism will come to the fore tomorrow when the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon is staged in the resort town. The 2015 Econet Victoria Falls Marathon includes running over the Victoria Falls Bridge, peering down to the gorge below, followed by a scenic run through the game-rich Zambezi National Park, then continuing through the small but vibrant tourist town of Victoria Falls.

According to one of the organisers, Bheki Ntini, the race has three categories and winners will qualify for The Two Oceans and Comrades Marathons.

Ntini said they have also witnessed tremendous increase in numbers and organisers and sponsors plan for an even stronger demand next week.

“It will be featuring a 42,2km, a 21,1km and a 7,5km fun event. All entrants must collect their race numbers at the Registration Venue in Victoria Falls and there are NO registrations or number collections on race day,” said Ntini.
