adminIn a telephone interview from Hwange yesterday, the chairman of the show, Mr Herbert Siansole, said every-thing was in place with exhibitors and other stakeholders working tirelessly to make the show a success.
The show will be held at Number 2, Colliery Show Grounds, Madumabisa, in the mining town.
“We are expecting more than 30 exhibitors this year and more exhibitors are still asking about the show while others are still to pay for exhibition space,” he said.
“But all in all, as organisers of the show, we are very happy to note that there will be new exhibitors some of them coming from Harare. Big companies and organisations such as Telecel Zimbabwe and Zimsec will be exhibiting.”
Mr Siansole said despite the financial constraints the organising committee was facing, the show was going to be a success.
The show running under the theme, “Creating opportunities to increase Social Responsibility in the face of global climatic change”, will be officially opened by the Governor and Resident Minister of Matabeleland North, Thokozile Mathuthu.
Mr Siansole said the theme is aimed at encouraging the mining sector in the province to increase its corporate social responsibility programmes for the benefit of communities they are operating in.
Last year, the show witnessed an increase in the number of exhibitors especially from the agricultural sector and small to medium enterprises.
Unfortunately, there was concern over the absence of some Government departments and new coal mining companies.
