All set for Mash swimming champs

After holding preliminary rounds last week, the Zimbabwe Aquatic president Mary Cleopas said they were expecting the event to attract some high profile names from the local scene.

“The event has been going on since time immemorial and it is improving with each passing year which is good for the sport

“There will be 219 participants from six clubs taking part in the event. Sharks are currently leading the competition and they are looking forward to maintain the good form. The six-day event begun last week at the same venue and has attracted top swimmers from top clubs from around.

“There are athletes like Lian Davies who had some decent outings in the last rounds and they are set to continue with the good form.

Sharks lead going into the final rounds but they could be up for some tough competition from such clubs like Pirates, Dorados, Highlands, Borrowdale.
