All set for Nama awards

THE National Arts Merit Awards (Nama), the premier awards given by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) in recognition of outstanding achievements in the arts and culture industry, will be streamed live on Saturday.

The awards ceremony – dubbed “Nama Legends at 40 Awards” and are scheduled to start at 9pm – will be streamed live on the Zimbabwe Television Network (ZTN), Nama TV, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) and various other social media platforms.

Unlike the traditional Namas, recipients of the Legends at 40 Awards were selected by a jury representing various arts associations in Zimbabwe.

Nama is focusing on artists that have made outstanding contributions in the past 40 years.

The award categories will be music, film and television, virtual arts, dance, theatre, literary arts, spoken and special recognition.  

The event will run under the theme, “Our Legacy, Our Pride”.
