BULAWAYO-BASED gospel group, Destiny Praise will tomorrow afternoon host a worship concert at Bulawayo Theatre under the theme “Thirsty for His Presence.” The praise and worship group’s spokesman, Abraham Morrison Lungu said they chose to perform worship songs so as to draw people closer to God.
“We do both praise and worship songs, but this weekend we will be doing worship songs, going deeper and deeper with worshipping God,” said Lungu.
The 18-member group takes its stage style from the Joyous Celebration Choir. Lungu said the group is also a choir of 12 vocalists and six instrument players.
“We expect a good turnout at the show and we understand fans have been asking for a worship concert. We have practised a lot for this and we will give it our best,” said Lungu.
After performing as curtain raisers for many artists, the choir has decided to hold its own concert. Their last show was early this year when they curtain raised for Zim Praise when the group visited Bulawayo.
The group was formed in 2010 under the name Glorious Melodies. They staged a number of shows before changing their name to Destiny Praise.
Over the years they have been engaged in church tours performing at Zaoga City Tabernacle, Abundant Life Youth Service, Eagle Life Church and at different weddings.
“We are still negotiating with different promoters that have shown interest in assisting us,” said Lungu.
