The Zimbabwe International Book Fair (ZIBF) is hosting a writers’ workshop today (Friday) in Harare, focusing on writing fiction in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Biography writing.

Selected members from various recognised publishing houses across Zimbabwe are attending the workshop.

The workshop is a means of laying a foundation ahead of the much-anticipated Book Fair, set to be held on 30 and 31 October at Harare Gardens in Harare.

The organisers of the event are encouraging publishers, authors, and booksellers to get in touch with their offices and register to showcase their latest titles and talents at the upcoming event.

Running under the theme “Page by page: The book returns,” attendees can look forward to engaging activities, insightful discussions, and meaningful connections that promise to leave a lasting impact on the literary landscape.

Ruth Shato from ZIBF said their organisation remains a premier literary event, bringing together book lovers, authors, publishers, and industry professionals from across the globe.

“As usual our purpose is to celebrate the written word, foster a culture of reading, and provide a platform for knowledge sharing and networking.

“We return this October after learning a lot from our two small Reconnect events earlier in the year in Harare and Bulawayo where we listened to your voices,” said Shato.
