CHICKEN INN are celebrating another proud moment after two of their players, Tyrese Hikupembe and Alex Mumbango, earned call-ups to the Namibia national team for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The duo’s selection has brought a wave of excitement to the Gamecocks camp, with the Bulawayo giants proudly celebrating their players’ elevation to the international stage.
Hikupembe and Mumbango will now turn their attention from domestic football to national duty as they join the Brave Warriors, giving them an opportunity to test themselves against some of the continent’s finest players.
Chicken Inn were quick to acknowledge the achievement, describing the call-up as a moment of immense pride for the club and its supporters.
“Massive congratulations to Tyrese Hikupembe and Alex Mumbango for their call-up to the
Namibian Brave Warriors for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers. Proud of you Gamecocks,” the club said in a congratulatory message.
The recognition of the two players comes as a welcome boost for Chicken Inn, who have continued to rely on a blend of experienced campaigners and emerging talent in their pursuit of success.
For Hikupembe and Mumbango, the Namibia call-up represents more than just personal recognition. It is an opportunity to showcase their abilities at a higher level and gain valuable international experience that could prove beneficial when they return to domestic football.
International exposure can often provide players with a different perspective of the game, particularly when they train and compete alongside footballers from different leagues and backgrounds.
Chicken Inn will therefore be hoping their representatives can make a strong impression in the Brave Warriors camp and return to Luveve with increased confidence and valuable experience.
The call-ups also serve as a source of motivation for other players within the Gamecocks squad.
With international football providing a pathway to greater opportunities, the achievement of Hikupembe and Mumbango could inspire their teammates to continue working hard and chasing their own ambitions.
For the club’s supporters, the sight of Chicken Inn players donning national colours is another reason to celebrate.
The Gamecocks have every reason to feel proud as two of their own prepare to answer Namibia’s call.
And as Hikupembe and Mumbango embark on their latest football adventure, Chicken Inn’s message is clear, their success is the club’s success too. From Luveve to the Brave Warriors, the
Gamecocks are flying the flag high.
