“One of our chants this year on the event is that #DomesticTourism: Experience because we feel we have a role to play in promoting mostly domestic tourism in the country.
“The event will be at Caribbea Bay Hotel and for the boat cruise we are using the biggest and luxurious commercial boat in Kariba waters from company called Zambezi Trader,” he said.
Chambati said those keen to be part of the fete have to choose from a number of packages.

“There is a package of US$120 that includes boat cruise and glow party access, accommodation at Caribbea Bay Resort including dinner, bed and breakfast. Another package is for the campsite accommodation plus access to boat cruise and it’s US$70. Another package is access of boat cruise and glow party which is US$40 per person.
“The programme will start on Friday 23 October at the hotel campsite with a bonfire party where we want locals to appreciate outdoor adventure. Twenty-four people will check in at Caribbea Bay resort and check in for boat cruise using the Zambezi Trader for eight hours exploring the Kariba Dam and its islands. On board party entertainment galore with Zimbabwe’s finest DJs on rotation,” said Chambati.
He said the glow party will be at the Caribbea Bay resort pool side and is strictly for patrons within the event due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Zambezi Trader boat manager Moreblessing Mahadzva said: “The boat will first stop at the first island called Forthergill where patrons will partake in activities of game viewing only and next up will be at the second island called Sambakaruma where there will be docking for two hours and sand and beach games.
