As October unfolds, Zimpapers joins the global community in recognising Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This is an essential initiative focused on raising awareness about breast cancer and promoting early detection.

The Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk is scheduled for November 2, 2024, inviting participants worldwide to engage in a collective effort to support cancer research and patient care.

This global event encourages individuals to walk, run, or cycle, showcasing solidarity in the fight against cancer.

In a statement, Zimpapers emphasised the initiative’s dual purpose to raise awareness and funds for crucial cancer research.

“We believe that tomorrow’s hope starts today. By coming together and making a significant impact in the fight against cancer.

” Choose from walking, running or cycling options and show your solidarity from anywhere in the world, said.

“By uniting, Zimbabweans and global participants can elevate awareness and contribute meaningfully to the fight against this devastating disease,” said Zimpapers.

Meanwhile speaking about survival of cancer, Mrs Shackaina shared her experience and how she was treated.

“I was 35 when I felt the lump. At first, I thought it was just fatigue or stress, but deep down I knew something was off. In 2018, my world changed forever. I was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer.

“The news shook me to my core. I underwent chemotherapy for 6 sessions after 12 months of treatment and was told you are cancer-free,” she said.
