Bloemfontein — The bail application of Danish national Peter Frederiksen, who was arrested after 21 clitorises were found in his freezer, continued at the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

On Wednesday the State called its first witness, Department of Home Affairs official Nico Breed, who testified that Frederiksen was in South Africa with fraudulent documents.

The court also heard that when Frederiksen applied for a temporary residency permit in South Africa; he claimed he owned a construction company.

However, recent investigations revealed that the company was not registered under his name.

Frederiksen is facing charges including sexual assault and contraventions of the Medicines Control Act. The State is expected to add new charges which include manufacturing of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography and two counts of conspiracy to murder and bigamy.

Members of the ANC Women’s League were also in court on Wednesday, saying they wanted to make certain Frederiksen doesn’t get bail.

“We are here to make sure that justice is served. As a matter of fact we want him to rot in jail. We are hurt, we are sad, we are embarrassed and humiliated as women,” said ANCWL member Joyce Davids.

Frederiksen allegedly sliced off the sexual organs and kept them in the freezer as trophies.

His wife, Anna Matseliso Molise, 28, who assisted the police with information about him, was last month shot dead in her home country of Lesotho, in what the Hawks described as a suspected hit. She reportedly refused to be placed in a witness protection programme. The couple have two children. — AFP
