After seven years of dedication, Amaculo Enjabulo, a musical ensemble from Guta RaMwari Religion (GRM), is thrilled to present their debut album, “Isihloko Sendaba”, set to be released this Sunday.
The nine-track compilation takes listeners on a transformative journey, narrating tales of prodigal sons and daughters finding redemption in the loving embrace of God.
Available on digital stores and USB copies at Tshabalala GRM, “Isihloko Sendaba” is a musical masterpiece that beautifully weaves spiritual resonance and contemporary African vibes. The album reflects the collaborative efforts of nearly seven talented writers within the group.
A press statement released by Amaculo Enjabulo expresses their excitement about sharing the album with the world, stating, “This eagerly anticipated musical masterpiece unveils a fusion of spiritual resonance and contemporary African vibes, meticulously crafted by the collaborative efforts of nearly seven talented writers within the group.”
The heart and soul of the album lie in the choir’s commitment to infusing creativity into their musical expressions. Each track presents soul-stirring melodies and rhythmic beats, showcasing the choir’s unique style that seamlessly marries spirituality with a modern African flair. The album features nearly eight soloists, adding depth to its musical diversity.
Alphios Mdlongwa, explaining the prolonged journey to release an album, cited the choir’s focus on defining their brand and sound.
“We were still building the brand and an audience. Also, we were still finding our sound, and the album took about a year to record because we wanted it to be perfect and well-executed.”
Despite facing challenges such as financial instability and a lack of group structure, Amaculo Enjabulo overcame obstacles by establishing a sustainable structure and addressing financial concerns through performances at weddings. Mdlongwa emphasised the group’s commitment to spreading God’s work through their music.
The album features captivating tracks like “Umngane”, “Makoti”, “Phumelela” and the title track, “Isihloko Sendaba”. Notably, the choir boasts award-winning songster Bhila among its members. –@MbuleloMpofu
