Forgotten gospel diva, Amanda Sagonda-Machimbira intends to make a comeback on the music scene with a new album. The 34-year-old singer said she is still in the game and has reassured her fans that her new album would be released in April.
“Amanda is still the same, a singer you used to know. It’s only that l had taken a break but I’m back. If everything goes according to plan my album will be out in April, I am polishing it as we speak.

“I know that for some years I have been promising an album but this time around it is certain,” Sagonda said.

The musician said she had abandoned the career due to a tragic event that she encountered and because of some family commitments.

“The death of my mother who was my source of inspiration in 2008 made me to lose the love of singing. She was the one who helped me to come up with my first song “Ndomutevera Mambo”.

“I was also concentrating on my family as marriage is my first priority but now I am ready to continue with my career,” she said.

The “Jesu Number One” hit -maker said she had some performances at crusades during her hibernation.

Last year the singer reappeared on the public scene when she ventured into acting and featured in the local comedy, Gringo the Trouble Maker.”

Amanda has four albums namely “Ngatimunamatei (1999), “Huyai Kwandiri”(2001), “Mwari Vanoziva(2003) and “Jesu Havakundikane” (2006).

Amanda got married to Request Machimbira in 2006 and the couple is blessed with two children.
