PRETORIA University coach Steve Barker has praised three Zimbabweans at his Pretoria-based side.
The club is home to former Dynamos and Highlanders goalkeeper who is now the team’s goalkeeper coach Tendai Tanyanyiwa, Warriors goalkeeper Washington Arubi and former Highlanders striker Obadiah Tarumbwa.
Barker believes the trio has brought a huge difference to the team.
“Tanyanyiwa knows the team very well as he was promoted to the elite league with the team from the National First Division last season.
“Tanyanyiwa was the team’s goalkeeper during the team’s campaign in the lower league.”
AmaTuks last season finished in top eight on their maiden season.
Barker says the Zimbabweans have contributed immensely to put the club in a respectable position.
He said: “There is no way that I will part ways with the Zimbabwean trio, not now the team needs them dearly. They are still in the team’s plans. We rate them highly as they are disciplined, dedicated and have a winning mentality.”
“In the first half of the current season we didn’t do well but all that will change as all the players have shown the eagerness of playing for the team.
“I’m thrilled to have my players back from a short break, now it’s high time to amend all the loopholes that have made us to be on a heart-breaking situation at the Absa Premier League.”
Pretoria University was once home to former Hwange FC defender Obert Moyo and former Highlanders striker Nqobile Mpala.
