AMBASSADOR GOODCHILD

A LOCAL entrepreneur has said that needy and vulnerable communities deserve support and empowerment.

Speaking during the appointment of entrepreneur and radio personality Alexio ‘Goodchild’ Gwenzi as the Civilnet Engineering (Pvt) Ltd ambassador, Bonny Kanyenze, the company’s managing director, said that disadvantaged communities should be helped.

The company has sponsored trophies for educational establishments, and paid tuition fees.

“Since Gwenzi is already into the real estate industry, we felt he has a better understanding of what we do and how to go about it, unlike other artists.

“He is a well-known local artist with passion and ambition.

“We were looking for someone who has had experience working as a brand ambassador with other companies and with a clean record, shying away from controversy, as our brand cannot be associated with bad publicity.

“Yes, it is part of our corporate social responsibility in the arts and sports sector.

“We have been engaged in supporting the arts and sport for quite a long time.”

He added:

“It is a prerequisite of us in the corporate world to also remember those in need.

“We have also sponsored the Zimbabwe Association of Choral & Musical Arts and sponsored branded outfits for Evans and the Kiat band for their stage performances.

“We also cater for tuition fees for the likes of Glorious Melodies Choir as well as sponsoring the Festival of Song (FOS) in their choral music festivals,” he said.

Goodchild, who has also been endorsed by other firms, said that such endorsements often depended on the reputation of public figures.

“I am excited to be part of Civilnet Engineering (Pvt) Ltd as their ambassador and I have noted that corporates have been using public figures to push a marketing narration and they are particular about the socialites they work with.

“They want people who are reputable, for example, KVG, Madam Boss and others.

“It’s now a model for several artists, and if you are professional, you can make inroads in commercial marketing.”

Civilnet Engineering was established in 2003, and provides architecture services, including interior and landscape design.
