Ambitious designer gives to charity

Khahliso Ncube

MODELS from Miss Tourism, Miss Hwange, Miss Valentines Victoria Falls and representative of Zimbabwe in Miss Africa know the name Fikile Ncube because she’s the face behind their lavishing dresses.

Looking at her designs and people she has worked with one cannot say she’s someone still pursuing her diploma in Fashion and Design yet she already has a clothing line called Empress Primy Designs that specialises in evening wear for women. Ncube started her clothing line last year.

Although she has never sold any of her designs outside Zimbabwe, she is holding a launch on 16 March as a way of getting exposure and attracting customers outside Zimbabwe.

“The event is a launch that seeks to give me a wider audience and exposure because I feel underexposed. However, instead of being just a fashion show it will also be a competition that will see models battling it out for the title of being the face of Empress Primy,” said Fikile Ncube, owner of Empress Primy designs.

The winner of the battle will work with Empress Primy for a year as their brand ambassador and money to be made on that particular day will go to charity. The money will be used to buy stationery and other school supplies for underprivileged children in Tsholotsho.
