THE American Atlantic Council will launch the Freedom and Prosperity Centre’s Women for Prosperity project in Harare tomorrow.
The initiative seeks to empower women entrepreneurs and drive policy changes that promote economic growth and prosperity.
The event will feature a capacity-building conference for emerging women business leaders, followed by a policy workshop to identify trends and proposals for boosting women’s economic participation and foreign direct investment.
The Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, Professor Mthuli Ncube, will represent Government at the policy dialogue.
The conference will be held in partnership with advisory council member, Ms Joanna Sharpe.
It coincides with the release of the centre’s report which underscores the importance of both economic growth and social progress.
It argues that by fostering an environment that attracts foreign investments and supports entrepreneurship, Zimbabwe can build a solid foundation for lasting prosperity.
Apart from Prof Ncube, other notable speakers include Mr Ken Sharpe, the chief executive officer of WestProp Holdings, and Mr Jobst Von Kirchmann, Ambassador of the European Union to Zimbabwe.
“Zimbabwe stands at a pivotal crossroads, with Vision 2030 serving as both a roadmap and a call to action,” said Mr Joseph Lemoine, the senior director of Freedom and Prosperity Centre.
“Achieving upper-middle-income status is not just an aspirational goal, it is a necessity in today’s increasingly competitive global landscape.”
Women for Prosperity is dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs and driving meaningful policy changes with lasting impact.
The initiative connects industry leaders with emerging women entrepreneurs and brings together government officials, civil society organisations, and private sector leaders to discuss data-driven policy proposals and solutions.
