Zimbabwean singer and actress Ammara Brown debuts at the popular Johannesburg Theatre in the musical “Colour Me Human”, which runs from today to November 29. This will be the second “Colour Me Human” run after it was staged earlier this year at the Soweto Theatre.
Ammara left for South Africa Johannesburg on Sunday after her performance at the Old Mutual Theatre at Alliance Francaise.
The musician said she is excited about the SA theatre show saying it is one of the best productions she has ever been involved in.
“Colour Me Human is one of the most incredible productions I have ever been part of. We took on Soweto theatre in May and now I am returning to SA to be at Johannesburg Theatre. So if you are in Jozi come through,” she said.
Ammara also made history last week when she became the first guest on new show #TonightWithZororo on DStv channel 160.
The recent achievements add to Ammara’s growing success story.
She has become one of the most active female performers in local showbiz because of her energy on stage and amazing choreography.
She has done collaborations with musicians that include Jah Prayzah and Roki.
Ammara showed her talent as her father Andy Brown’s backing vocalist before pursuing a solo career.
In 2008 she made it to the top 10 of Idols East and Southern, being one of five Zimbabweans in the show and she was eventually eliminated to take fifth position.
In 2010, she performed at the FIFA World Cup ceremony in South Africa alongside Flabba from Skwatta Kamp.
Ammara performed on the same stage with popular group Mi Casa at the Harare International Festival of the Arts.
Having been on stage in South Africa before, Ammara should be ready for another outstanding act.
